Here at advanced we are passionate about what we do! In our blogs we talk a lot about the different types of pallet racking available, or about what we do? but today I want to discuss an extremely important part of pallet racking that is arguably the more important part! It is ?the glue that holds everything together? ? well almost! Have you guessed yet? I am going to discuss the importance of pallet rack beam safety clips, the small yet integral component helping to keep warehouses safe across the globe!
To describe the job of a safety clip is simple, they force the pallet racking beams to stay engages with the uprights, preventing them from being knocked out of place by an upward-moving forklift and stopping any potential dumping of the beam load.
Describing the clips themselves is more difficult as they come in all shapes, sizes and colours! They are also engineered to function in a number of different ways. Generally speaking they work by attaching a pallet rack beam and obstructing the beam?s pin from moving upwards in the uprights slot.
Whilst different clips have different sizes, functions and ways of functioning, they all have the same end goal? to prevent beam disengagement and ultimately keeping your racking safe!
They are not the most flashy piece of kit but they are certainly one of the most important! They provide a pivotal role in the safety of warehouses by preventing costly accidents or mistakes.
Pallet racking clips are subject to general wear and tear but they are important to be replaced sooner rather than later.
